INAUGURATION OF I-VOICE : Indira’s very own speakers’ stand
Freedom of speech, the predominant fundamental right and the precondition to development and democracy,
today needs a vent. I-Voice, a speaker’s stand is a concept to promote this idea.
I-Voice was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Chairperson IGI, Ms. Tarita Shankar on 25 February, 2010.
The concept of a speaker’s stand as a platform for free expression was broached by our Chaiperson Tarita Shankar.
Tarita ma’am, addressing the gathering urged the students to avail themselves of the platform provided at Indira’s Universe campus.
She said, “At times we want to express our views but there is no specific platform or a stage for that. I-Voice is created with the idea of providing a platform for everyone who is a part of Indira to freely express their thoughts and opinions on any issue. . Group Director, Mr. Wakalkar also addressed the gathering and asked students to reinvent themselves and that there dwells a superman/woman in everybody.
The program was organized by Indira School of Communication. The students put up a thematic set which appropriately described the event. The audiences were treated to various media such as free speech, music and calligraphy.

Indira group Of Institutes presents 9th Marketing Excellence Awards
Indira Group of Institutes and DNA rolled out the 9th Indira Awards for Marketing Excellence at a glittering function at the Indira National School grounds in Wakad Pune on Saturday evening in presence of an 4000 impressive gathering.
Chairperson of the Indira Group of Institutes Tarita Shankar and the group director of the institute Chetan Wakalkar welcomed the guests.
They maintained that the awards have become a trendsetter in the field of marketing excellence where the best of the brands and individuals behind them are awarded for their feats.
State minister for co-operatives, agricultural marketing and parliamentary affairs Harshawardhan Patil was the chief guest for the event.
Mr. Patil in his address exhorted the students to follow the example set by the award winners by adopting their inspiring qualities of leadership, hard work and determination.
“The youth should set their goals high and work hard to achieve them through sheer grit and perseverance,’’ he said.
Construction doyen Mr.BG Shirke was bestowed with the lifetime achievement award. While accepting the award, Shirke stressed on the need to protect and nurture the environment by explaining how his organization never used wooden tree while doing any of his project.
The outstanding award for contribution to advertising was given to adman Prahlad Kakkar.
The other awards were presented in two categories — Awards for Marketing Excellence and the Indira Excellence Awards, which recognized the value of brands and individuals in promoting them and the organizations that, have consistently upheld the spirit of youth by providing employment opportunities to them.
Prominent winners in the marketing excellence category were: Marketing professional of the Year won by Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

Creating employment opportunities- were bagged by leaders in different sectors like Tulip Telecom Ltd, (telecom), Future Learning and Development Ltd and Videocon (retail), Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance (insurance), KPIT Cummins Info systems Ltd, (IT) Cadbury India Ltd. (FMCG), Hindustan Motors (manufacturing), ICICI Securities (financial services), Oberoi Hotels (hospitality sector).
Chairperson of the Indira Group of Institutes Tarita Shankar and the group director of the institute Chetan Wakalkar welcomed the guests.
Apart from the awards, the other highlight of the evening was a Group Song by Indira National School students based on the music theme by noted musician AR Rehman.
The award function had another crowd pulling musical extravaganza which included foot tapping numbers by sufi Singer Kailash Kher, who with his band, Kailasa, belted out some of his best known numbers, both Bollywood and non-film songs.

FUNDOO is an annual intra- college festival for PG student , being organized by Iindira Group of Institutes on 12th and 13th of march 2010 which gives a platform for showcasing the plethora of talents by more than 2500 students.
SUSTANIBILITY being the theme, aim to sensitize the students to the principle and practices of social value and concern.
The event gives ample opportunities to hone their skills as it is organized and managed by students
